How to Make Worksheets from a Word List

Turn any word list or question list into a clean, printable worksheet PDF in minutes—without formatting by hand.

The problem: making worksheets by hand is slow

If you’ve ever tried to turn a word list into a worksheet, you know the pain:

  • Copy/paste into a document
  • Fix spacing and page breaks
  • Reformat headings and questions
  • Export to PDF and hope it prints correctly

This is fine once—but it gets frustrating when you need to do it repeatedly.

The simple solution: paste a list → export a PDF

Worksheet Generator is designed for one thing: taking a simple list and turning it into a clean worksheet you can print.

The basic workflow is:

  1. Prepare your list (one item per line)
  2. Paste it into Worksheet Generator
  3. Choose a format and export a PDF

Step 1: Prepare your list (use a consistent separator)

You can start from:

  • A vocabulary list
  • A question list
  • A spreadsheet (recommended for Q&A)
  • A text export from another app

The key is to keep the input consistent.

If your source is plain text

Use one item per line. If you have question + answer pairs, use a clear separator:

  • Question[TAB]Answer (recommended)
  • Question,Answer (works if commas aren’t part of your content)

If your source is a spreadsheet (Google Sheets / Excel)

Put Question and Answer in separate columns.

When you copy two columns and paste, the clipboard includes a tab between columns—so Worksheet Generator will recognize it as Question[TAB]Answer.

Step 2: Paste into FlashPrint Worksheet

Copy the exported text and paste it into FlashPrint Worksheet.

Step 3: Choose a quiz format and print

Customize your worksheet by adjusting Question type, Header, Question order, Font, and Page layout to match your preferences. Preview the result, and if it looks good, export it to PDF instantly and share it.

Common use cases

  • ESL vocabulary practice (definitions, fill-in)
  • Spelling practice (word list → practice sheet)
  • Exam prep (question list → printable practice)
  • Homeschooling (custom sets per topic)
