How to Export Cram Flashcards to CSV and Print Them

Export a Cram set as a CSV, copy its front and back columns into FlashPrint, and make a print-ready PDF for paper study.

If you want a paper copy of a Cram set, you can export its card text as a CSV and use FlashPrint to make a printable PDF. FlashPrint does not connect to your Cram account or transfer your study history.

If Cram’s own print option already gives you the layout you need, you can use it directly. The steps below are for making a custom print layout in FlashPrint.

1. Export your Cram set as a CSV

  1. Open the flashcard set on the Cram website and sign in if needed.
  2. Find the set’s Export option.
  3. Choose Export to CSV, if it is available, and save the file.

The location and availability of export options can vary by set or account. If you do not see Export to CSV, check Cram’s current help information before continuing.

2. Copy the front and back columns

FlashPrint imports pasted text rather than opening a CSV file directly.

  1. Open the downloaded CSV in a spreadsheet app.
  2. Check that the first two columns contain the front and back of each card.
  3. If there is a heading row, leave it out when copying. If the file has extra columns, select only the front and back columns.
  4. Copy the selected cells from the spreadsheet.

Copying the cells keeps the front and back in separate columns. If the CSV opens as raw text, import it into a spreadsheet first instead of copying the comma-separated lines as plain text.

3. Paste the cards into FlashPrint

  1. Open FlashPrint and choose Bulk add words.
  2. Paste the copied cells into the text field.
  3. Set the separator between the term and definition to Tab.
  4. Set the separator between cards to New line.
  5. Check the preview to make sure each front is paired with the correct back, then tap Import.

For more details about FlashPrint’s paste-based import, see How to Import CSV Data into FlashPrint.

Free PDF output supports up to 10 cards. Check bulk-import access, additional features and current prices in the app before purchasing.

4. Create and check your PDF

Open Export, choose a card layout, and review the preview. Check that each card’s front and back are paired correctly for double-sided printing. Print one test sheet first to check alignment with your printer settings.

When the preview looks right, choose Generate PDF & Share. Print the PDF, cut out the cards, and use them for paper-based review.

What transfers from Cram?

This workflow uses the front and back text in the CSV. It does not connect FlashPrint to your Cram account or move your study history.
