Blank Flashcard Templates: Free A4 & Letter PDFs
Download blank flashcard PDFs for handwriting: A4 or US Letter, with 6 or 10 cards per sheet. Includes an editable Excel word list. No account or app required.
These are blank sheets for handwriting, not fillable PDFs. Each PDF has one page. Print, cut the cards apart, then write a question on the front and its answer on the reverse. A duplex printer is not needed.
Choose your paper and card size
The sheet has 10mm outer margins. Choose six larger cards for longer explanations or larger handwriting, or ten for short words and questions. Dimensions below are design sizes at 100% scale.
Print and write your cards
- Match the PDF to the paper loaded in your printer. Print one sheet in portrait, one-sided, at 100% / Actual Size. Turn off fit-to-page and multiple-pages-per-sheet options.
- Cut the outer border and internal lines. An adult should help young children with cutting. Leave the reverse blank until the cards are separated.
- Write the prompt and answer after cutting. Keep handwriting away from the edges and check the reading direction on one card. Use card stock only if your printer supports it.
We have checked the PDF geometry and rendered appearance, but have not physically printed these blank templates. For a typed, two-sided deck, prepare a word list below and test the generated PDF separately.
Prepare your own word list
The Excel file has Front and Back columns with ten empty rows. Fill them in, then copy only populated rows from A2:B11, excluding the header. Printing this workbook does not reproduce the blank PDF card layout.
Download editable Excel list ↓Editing does not regenerate the PDF. Copy uses your device clipboard. Edited text is never sent to analytics.
The editor starts with two example cards. For pasting into FlashPrint, use Tab between front/back and New line between cards. Bulk pasting is listed as a Pro feature. The blank PDFs themselves require neither an app nor payment.
